About Us
Hello and welcome to KABO5, I'm Lavina, Founder and Creator and here is my story ... I love a good back story !
I'm an Irish mam to 4 children and together we make up the 5 in KABO5.
During some personal turbulent years, I started a blog on Instagram called Lavina's Wish List. Over the years, I enjoyed weekly fashion hauls for my followers but I became very disillusioned with clothing on the highstreet, the same poor quality and similar styles were everywhere whilst the higher end stores were outside my budget.
I was tired of constantly replacing clothes, after a few washes they either lost their shape, would shrink or went bobbly. Did you know that up to 92 million tonnes of clothing ends up in landfills every year !
I completed a Personal Shopping and Image Consultancy course with Laura Jordan of StyleSavvy, Dublin Institute of Design, in 2021.
I started thinking about bringing my own brand, a sustainable and ethical brand that would produce amazing quality clothes that people would love to wear and that would stand the test of time. I began to put the wheels in motion in February 2023 and my aim was to hit that middle market which really seemed to be lacking in Ireland, amazing quality, flattering fits and an affordable price.
I broke my wrist in February 2024, it stopped me in my busy tracks and gave me the head space to think .. it's now or never Lavina !
Enter KABO5 to the Irish market on 18th December 2024. KABO means 'lions roar'... I adore lions and everything they stand for, power, resilience, strength, independence and of course the 5 being my little family.
Each and every product we produce is from our own hand drawn patterns here in Co. Laois, Ireland and manufactured in Portugal, a country synonymous for craftsmanship and quality. Producing ethically and sustainably is at the heart of what we do and we will never compromise on that.
'Buy better and wear for longer' is our ethos at KABO5, so expect your KABO5 pieces to be loved and live in your wardrobe for years.
